Dance Therapy
Who would’ve said that being a dancer would come useful at this point in my life? hahaha, I tried to do some exercise today during my physiotherapy session… it was a complete disaster! I only lasted 4 minutes and my tongue was sticking out hahaha so starting tomorrow I’ll begin Dance Therapy, which will help me recover my physic. If I intend to travel at the end of the year, I have to prepare for it now!

Resoluciones

3. Hacer una Expo-venta
4. Conseguir el trabajo de mis sueños
5. Enamorarme…
6. Viajar mucho, por todos lados!
7. Ampliar mi portafolio
8. Encontrar a mi "Will" (mejor amigo gay, como en "Will & Grace" jajaja)
9. Escribir un libro
10. Cantar en un escenario... jaja
11. Tener más paciencia
12. Arrepentirme de nada!
Etc...

Resolutions
I think it’s time to write again, I have to admit I’ve been absent these last few days, this whole month in fact; I guess it’s because I didn’t know what to say, but now I have a clearer idea. I’ll tell you about my New Year resolutions…

Only yesterday I realised I had already saved the money to buy my ticket for the end of this year, the truth is I can’t stop thinking about it… now I only have to save the rest, although for not having worked that much this year, saving the money for the ticket is not that bad ;)

I want next year to be full of surprises, full of joy and triumph, that it fills all my expectations and more!

My resolutions aren’t many, but here they are: (not necessarily in order)
1. Receiving the New Year with good health
2. Going to the best party of my life!
3. Doing an Expo-Sale
4. Getting the job of my dreams
5. Falling in love…
6. Travel a lot, everywhere!
7. Amplify my portfolio
8. Find my “Will” (gay best friend, like in “Will & Grace” hahaha)
9. Write a book
10. Sing on stage… haha
11. Being more patient
12. To have no regrets!
Etc…

Guantecito...

Small glove
Well, my dear... I tell you that I still have the drain connected to my liver, my dear glove, whom I make dance whenever I feel bored hahaha it’s become my puppet... The doctor considered appropriate to leave it for a few more days to avoid any infection, I'm sure that once it’s off I’ll feel much better...

I was very sensitive for a few days (in fact a whole week! haha), bored of waiting and of all, almost anything could’ve make me mourn... but now, I just think of what is to come, and how wonderful my life will be like :) I'll be completely healthy for the first time in my life, because when I thought I was, I really wasn’t... I find it interesting, and I, who believed was in terrible shape, turned out to be in very good conditions to have done what I did without my body collapsing! hahaha I'm very grateful for that...

I’d like it to be new year’s eve already, to return to my beloved mountains, take the photos I want, to escape the routine, have fun, to see old friends and make many new ones. Sure I'll have some limits... Only by December I’ll be free of "chemo" and I’ll be able to do my normal things, I won’t climb much, but never mind! I’ll obey any order that the doctor gives me, the thing is to leave this city!! hahaha

So mountains: Wait for me! Every day is a day less I have to wait to get back to you :D Ahhh! I’m so excited! hahahaha

Again at home...
After arduous months of waiting, two major surgeries and chemotherapy, I can finally say that I have no more cysts... The doctor was able to get Juanito and Juanita out of my liver, without complications. I was hospitalized 18 days, and just yesterday I got out, I was able to enjoy a homemade meal after a while.

On my way home from the Hospital, tears started to fall out of my eyes, not of sadness, nor pain, but rather relief, knowing that I’m at the finish line, and that from now on I can only hope to be better, begin to live in my body instead of being imprisoned in it: being free! I cried of joy.

I was tired of those four walls, my hospital room, and everything involved... doctor visits, checks with the nurses, blood tests, the spray, ultrasounds, constant punctures to control my glucose, night noises, etc… Being at home is different, the bed is my bed, the food is tasty and I have a little more than four walls in which to stroll, in fact I have more than 6 rooms; the kitchen, the dining room, the living room, the bathroom, my room or my parents’ room... I feel comfortable!

On Monday I have to return to the Hospital for the surgeon’s control and to remove me a drain that I still have connected to the liver and empties into a surgical glove, which is very funny, the drain is what upsets me most, but it will disappear on Monday.

At the moment I have no further news except that I will have to follow three months of chemotherapy as a precaution, which would end this whole nightmare, and God knows that at the end of the year I’ll be celebrating how ever I want, wherever I want! :)

Demaciado Sensible

Too Sensitive
There comes a moment in the life of any patient that the words of encouragement are not enough, hugs are just hugs, the visits are few, and some comments are the trigger to our emotions becoming involved in a twister filled with dark negativity...

At this point, in the disease, the most important thing is to avoid collapsing, and always keeping the spirit high with positivity, but it’s never easy... I’ll tell you, I’m the "Queen of Smiles", but sometimes I feel like I slowly fall down into an abyss.

With time, I’ve handle this whole issue as best as I could. But I must admit that these last few days it’s being difficult; and that a part of me, however small, is falling into the negative side, which I want to avoid. I am very sensitive, anything irritates me and I haven’t done much this year in terms of my work and personal life, I feel like a total failure, which is not true, but it doesn’t help that most of my days are the same:

I get up, have breakfast, take pills, wash my teeth, shower and change clothing; switch on my computer, write on the blog, see my old photos, check my email waiting for someone to write, I turn off my computer; I watch television, have lunch, take more pills; I wash my teeth again, go to the bathroom, watch more TV and I switch on my computer again thinking there would be some variation, I switch it off; it's dinner time and I take even more pills, I wash my teeth, put on my pajamas, I see more television and then return to my bed, go to sleep and the next day the cycle is repeated.

That's basically what I feel I've been doing all these months... it's clear that’s an exaggeration, some days I had visits or calls from someone other than my parents and my nonnos and there was always the occasional visit to the Hospital due to muscle pain or post-operative revisions.

Anyway! the conclusion of me telling you all this is that I'm sensitive, there are matters you can’t speak to me about and memories I'm clinging to. The visits are few, the calls are few, but the love for all is great... The funny thing is that most of the calls were not for me but for my parents or grandparents... I am happy for that and yet sad, because finally they can see other people and can go to other places, a call for me instead of for them would be enough... so call me, visit me... don’t only send custom words of encouragement, say them to me, joke with me, join me... Be here...

hahaha I'm drifting away from the topic, there are so many thoughts going through my mind that many times I don’t know how to net them in a coherent way, if this text sounds messy: Sorry. I am the most distracted person in the world and tend to confuse my thoughts, but what I write, I write it from the heart and hope you understand it.

Merecidas vacaciones...

Well deserved vacations...
I'm sick of listening to others’ plans, and I know they don’t say them with malicious intentions... But given the circumstances, many times they really say the most stupid things without thinking about how it affects me, maybe it’s because I’ve been sensitive lately or maybe it’s just them…
I am determined to take a good vacation from my life and everything! hahaha This year started badly and still hasn’t improve... but I intend to finish it better than good: Marvelous!
You have no idea how many times I've imagined it, and the closer the date of this second operation gets I can’t help clinging to these fantasies, which I want to do. I have many ideas to celebrate my good health and I don’t know which ones I’ll do, or if I’ll do them all, or with which one I’ll begin… hahaha I want to travel, to work, to sell my pictures, to paint, to write a book, to get a tattoo, to jump, to exercise, to sing at full volume... I don't know: what ever! hahaha As you can see I have accumulated a number of ideas ... ;)

Presentandome...

Mensaje fraccionado a mi tía Martha:

Introducing myself...
Split message to my Aunt Martha:

"Indeed, when we stop dreaming we slowly die, that's why I dream constantly hehe...

My ideas may seem crazy many times for Lima's conservative way of thinking; I don’t consider myself a liberal person, but an open-minded one and curious to try new things. I like going to new places (I've even gone with friends to gay discos to see the drag queen shows, here we don’t see that much and I got curious: it was cool!), I like meeting new people, (I love the cafes in Cusco where you can sit with complete strangers to talk while listening to live music), I like having different adventures when I go climbing or when I’m in my city, everything is always new for me and I love it.

I’m super happy and colorful... sometimes too much color for what my mom can handle... hahaha, my friends know me by my laugh, and people generally know me by my cheerful and optimistic way of being, and of course by my way of dressing... I think that I dress fairly normal, it’s just that I like to experiment with colors and textures, in the photos on my Facebook may not show, but I always have to bring some color to break the outline, and occasionally I love dressing up and go out like that.

I believe that kindness is the key to evolution; my life is a constant experiment... I try to get along and smile to everyone, and it always gives good results, from the most grumpy person to the most quiet and shy, skin color doesn’t even matter, they all respond positively... from a bus collector to a person living in La Planicie (rich part of Lima) I try to be friendly with everyone and works... Cochina y Exhibicionista

Filthy and exhibitionist
I've always been a very private person and had proper manners, I never burped, and had never allowed people to see me naked, was ashamed even if my own mother saw me...
Following the operation, many things have changed... after being virtually immobile, more than one person had to help me bathe and go to the bathroom, wipe my ass, etc. Charito, who had never seen me before, had to help me with these things, and one of the most amusing, was not the bath, but the cleaning my ass part of it... between my mom and Charo were big differences... my mom was very rough and Charo very delicate, so every time she had to clean me, I repeated: Charo! Woman! Stick your hand in it! You're not cleaning me!! hahahaha this is something I never thought I'd say to her...
Furthermore, whenever I eat or drink something starts a very particular symphony to sound... Due to the operation and the amount of pills I take, including those of quimotherapy, each time I eat something ends with a concert of burps: such shame! I never would have done those things, nor would have allowed anyone to see me like that, I've become a filthy exhibitionist! hahahaha My gosh!

My boob...
This is something I haven't written before, but yesterday talking to my mom, I had an idea to be able to tell it and make it sound funny...
After my operation, in the hospital, I had no chance to see me in a mirror and I was wearing big pajamas to not complicate myself when dressing up... when I got home to change for the first time in my room in front of the mirror on my dresser, I noticed a HUGE difference: my boob was higher than the other! The doctor warned me that something like this would happen, but I never thought it was going to be so obvious...
Taking in advantage that in those days the newspapers mentioned the Peruvian film "La Teta asustada" ("The scared boob"); my mom, Charito and I started to call it "The swollen boob", when the effects of the analgesic passed it became "The sore boob"... and now that I'm doing my physiotherapy and thank God that it returned to it's natural height... we call it "The asleep boob", because I can't feel it yet!! hahaha
These are just small anecdotes that I hope cheered your day up...

Sucesos

Events
Who would've said that this year would be a year of great challenges?, when only a few months ago you could have found me climbing a mountain on the side of the great Huascarán. Certainly, quimotherapy and two high risked operations were not in my plans... I know I've mentioned it before in the blog, but these days I don't believe it myself.
I guess I'm reaching the point where all this is boring me, I'm turning 24 this year and I feel as if I hadn't done anything at all... I know that's a lie, but today, at this particular moment, that's what I feel.
What makes the difference?, Is it that today I am more hormonal than I was yesterday?, or perhaps the approaching date of my second operation is making the desire to escape from all this stronger?
Let's see, I may not have been able to work this year nor have fun with my friends, but I made more important things; like surviving and even more important joining my family, but every time someone mentions that I am brave just because I'm optimistic about the situation, I feel that I'm not doing anything out of the ordinary, nothing special... I'm just being me. Does that make me a saint? I don't think so, there's been many times when I lack patience, when I lack courage, I lack many things to be able to become something more than what I am. I'm not brave, I just take things as they come in the best possible way, often hiding the pain behind a smile to not worry those around me, and sometimes I joke to not think about what happened.
This year made a difference, I haven't changed much, but being under a magnifying glass makes people see me differently... my family sees me as brave, my parents see me vulnerable, my brother sees me as a friend and my nonnos see me as that same little girl.
This text is only a fraction of what I feel, but I hope you like it...

This year...
My whole life I've thought that the age of 23 would be important to me, do not ask why but I've always had the idea that something important would happen... At first, when I was diagnosed, I thought that being sick was the important thing that would happen this year. Well, being sick has something to do with what really happened.

Thanks to my illness, I feel I've made my family come closer... My nonna (grandmother in Italian) has always been concerned about the union of the family, and at some point we have been a bit distant... I am glad that since my illness there had been good things, such as uniting nephews and uncles, cousins, joining my parents even more, and joining with my brother... he can be a bit of an ass sometimes, but he's my brother and I love him and I know that he loves me back.

I like the idea that my purpose for this year has been that, even if I had to sacrifice a little of my time and health... my family was worth it!

Viaje imaginario

He vuelto a mi amada sierra más de mil veces y he viajado al rededor del mundo mil veces más, he conocido toda clase de gente y he aprendido toda clase de idiomas y costumbres; me he enamorado y me he vuelto a desenamorar; he hecho amistades fuertes, y he reído hasta llorar.

Imaginary Trip
Confinement at home makes me miss the mountains a lot... I've been feeling nostalgic these days, but I know it won't be forever. My health is improving and the wound looks like a big scratch, but the process is slow, and I know that soon I will have to submit to another operation ... Well! that's life and you have to see it always on the positive side.

I won't be able to travel more than in my mind, but my imaginary trips are great fun. I returned to my beloved mountains over a thousand times and I've traveled around the world a thousand times more, I've met all sorts of people and I've learned all sorts of languages and customs, I've been inlove and I've returned to not being inlove; I've made strong friendships, and I've laughed until mourn. I've done all this things in my mind, but I know that someday they will come true ;)

I attached a small drawing about my adventures ...

At Home...
Finally at home! the operation was a success, although Perencejo turned out to be more punk than I thought... not only was he in my lung, but he had attached to a membrane in my heart! The recovery is extremely painful, but as the days pass I'm feeling much better. I'm doing chest physiotherapy sessions and slowly moving my arms, I lost almost all mobility in my right arm due to the operation, but it is all part of the process... I have to consider that to get to my lung the doctors had to cut several nerves and muscles... I am slowly recovering my sensibility, and gradually lowering the swelling.
I'm very grateful for my family and friends, with their support, I'm feeling much better. It has already passed the worst part; I'm now expecting to be fully recovered for my second operation.
I'll keep you informed... ;)

Que nervios!! ...

So nervous!! ...
As the date the of my first operation is approaching, I can't help feeling nervous... it may not show when I'm awake, but in my dreams is quite the opposite!
Is not exactly picturing the operation, although I know the details of it because I asked the surgeon, but I dream of being in concerts, and though I love music and going to concerts... these dreams are not pleasant at all! Even in my nightmares I include my love for music: my gosh! hahaha but this dreams are not very enjoyable, not at all...

Pensamiento "profundo"

"Deep" Thought
Sitting in the cold, under the rain, I thought about many things, aspects of my life for which I had never taken the time. Within all this meditation, really deep thoughts, and chills. Something really silly crossed my mind: Doesn't this landscape looks like from a Lord of the Rings movie or something? hahaha how in the most tragic moments, I find little things that make me laugh.

See the snow?, I was supposed to continue climbing with my group to arrive to a crystalline lake, but I had to sit down because I couldn't breathe anymore, BLISSFULLY I didn’t insist nor forced my body. Who would've known that it was because I was sick?, I thought for a moment that I was in horrible shape! hahaha when I recover, I'll try again, and I'm sure I'll make it! :) Even though I did not reach the lake, my goal was to find myself, and did so! It was an incredible experience.
